Chromecast is one of my favorite devices and it is something I think everyone should have so in this article I will show you the Chromecast setup. How to set it up step by step. It's easy to do but I'm here to help you, I'll show you exactly how to do it so we can get better. Chromecast is a $ 30 device that allows you to wirelessly stream anything from your web browser that may be your video to your HDTV link to Chromecast. So let’s get into this Chromecast setup first let’s look at what you need to use and set up your Chromecast you need an HDTV, Wi-Fi network and a smartphone or computer now let’s take a quick look at the contents of the box. When you first open the box you will see the first quick guide on the inside cover and you will see Chromecast itself. The Chromecast is small in size with a thumb drive and has an HDMI connector at the end of each box including a USB cable, HDMI extender, and power adapter.
Set up & Chromecast Installation
The first
step is to connect the small end of the USB cable to Chromecast. Next connect
the Chromecast to one of your HDMI TV ports. If your Chromecast can get in
close proximity to your HDMI port, you will need to use the HDMI extender to
give it more space to fit properly. The next step is to enable Chromecast There
are two different ways to do this to use the USB port on your TV if it has
another one if it just plugs a USB cable into it and it will power Chromecast.
If your TV does not have a USB port, you will need to connect the USB cable to
the power adapter and connect the power adapter to the store as soon as your
Chromecast is turned on and connected. The next step is to convert the input of
your TV or source to the HDMI port your Chromecast is connected to and if you
are in the proper HDMI input you will see a screen like this now to set up
Chromecast. You can use a smartphone, tablet or computer but I have found that
it works very well with a smartphone so let's not do that but the process is
the same on a computer open your web browser and go to chromecast.com/setup and
that will open a page with a link to the App Store so click when the app store
will open the Chromecast app to click on install. It's a free app. Wait for it
to download and install and open the Chromecast app and accept the terms that
will be scanned for Chromecasts.
Okay now we will click to set up the new Chromecast now when it says go to your phone's Wi-Fi settings and select your new Chromecast look with the same device name you see in your TV screen Chromecast 8436. Yours will be different select and wait for that connected Once connected go back to the Chromecast app and you should say get a new Chromecast and dial next and make sure your input source shows Chromecast. To see the code on your TV screen then tap next. Choose your country here you can give your Chromecast a custom name for example I will call mine 'MY CHromecast' and if you are my true fan you will name the same thing at the screen tap select Wi-Fi network and select your Wi-Fi network from the list and you enter your Wi-Fi password now your Chromecast will connect to your Wi-Fi network. When you are done you will see that it has been successfully set up and you are ready to start streaming from your smartphone, tablet, and computer as long as they are connected to your Wi-Fi network working with many different apps and to see the full list you can visit Chromecast.com/apps.
To start streaming from your computer you will need to use Google Chrome which is a free web browser that you can find at Google.com/chrome. If you already have Chrome on your computer, open and search the Google "Chromecast extension" and click on Google. first result. Click the free button and add the Chrome extension as soon as it's added you'll see the Chromecast icon at the top right of your browser which is what you will click on your TV to for example stream a YouTube video on your TV while on the YouTube video watch page you can click the -Chromecast at the bottom right of the video or click on the Chromecast icon at the top right of your browser and select your Chromecast from the drop-down menu. Once you do that it will start playing YouTube video on your TV nicely and this works with any browser window in Chrome and works with sites like HBO Go and many other different websites.
Now I'll show you how it works on your smartphone or tablet first make sure your phone or tablet is connected to your Wi-Fi network and then open a compatible app like YouTube and now you'll see a Chromecast icon in the app or video playing so tap on the icon then select your Chromecast name and. It will send the video directly to your TV and when the video is playing with your Chromecast you don't have to keep your phone turned on you can lock your phone and the video will continue to play on your TV which is good to stop streaming just tap the Chromecast icon and then tap to pause for that setup and use your Google Chromecast.
