Fix WhatsApp Calls & Message Display Problem
Some time when someone calling you on WhatsApp you will not
see incoming calls notification on your screen or when someone send you WhatsApp
message you will not see any popup notification on your mobile screen. Until
you open your WhatsApp application and see your call or message notification. Today
we will discuss why you are not receiving WhatsApp Call and Message notification
unless you open the app. Generally, what should happen is when you receive a
WhatsApp notification you should be able to hear the notification sound and you
will also see the notification badge on the WhatsApp icon. This will tell you
how many messages you have received. But if it's not happening then let us see
how to fix the issue.

Now for this one you will
go to Settings icon.

you will go to Apps, make
sure to select here All

Then scroll down and look
for WhatsApp application. Open the application. Now if you are using mobile
data, select Mobile data and make sure that this Allow background data usage is
selected. Let's go back.

Go to notification setting
click on show notifications then enable app icon badges.

If you are a member of a
group, enable Group notifications and also enable Message notifications option.

So, make sure to enable all
these options under Notifications.
Let us do some additional troubleshooting tips also. Let's
go to settings again and then go to Apps. Tap on three dotted icons. Then
select "Reset App preferences". Now what does this do is, if you have
put restrictions on applications, if you have changed the settings for
application, everything will be reset to the default settings. So once you do
these things then you can check if this will fix the issue.
The other thing what
you can do is, you can go back then go to Settings. Then go to connections, go
to Wi-Fi, tap on three dotted icons and go to advanced. Make sure that Wi-Fi
power saving mode is disabled.
If all above setting not work on your mobile, then check is
your WhatsApp app is updated for this go to your mobile’s play store and check
its update if your app is up to date, then click on WhatsApp application and
uninstall it. After uninstalling this go to again play store and again download
and install fresh and update file. Open your WhatsApp and enter your mobile
number and wait to verification message after receiving verification code enter
this code to your WhatsApp and login your Account.
Now the last thing that you will check is, we will swipe the
screen from the top to open the Notification Center. Make sure that do not
disturb mode is disabled. If it is enabled, then you will not hear notification
sound even though you receive notification. Do all of these steps and I hope
that this will fix the issue. Now when someone calling or message you on your
WhatsApp you will see notification with default message or caller ring tune.
