There are four Pakistani children living in Manchester, UK, who became the authors of a book. The children are between 16 and eight years old and have four siblings. Da'een, Hadi, Azan and Shiza are seen signing their story book 'Gifted Lies' at various places in Manchester these days.
The story is that the mother of those children had a car
crash in the UK and she was unable to walk for some time. By the way, the
youngsters wont to come to Pakistan, but in 2017, the mother of these children,
Dr. Chand Zahid Khan, who is additionally a scientist, came to Pakistan with
the youngsters for a year. He started home schooling for the children here and
gave them the opportunity to visit their relatives as well as travel to
Pakistan. The children also took part in various educational fairs.
Talking to Independent Urdu, Dr. Chand Zahid Khan said that
the grandparents of the children showed them the way to write stories so the
children also liked the idea. Grandparents used to pay them to write stories.
He said that the stories written by the children in view of
the people around them and their observations were both imaginative and
instructive.
"When we came to the united kingdom , we came to our
normal lives. But when the Corona epidemic hit, in 2020 we had the opportunity
to spend time together again. In the meantime, we considered these stories and
edited them regularly and put them in book form, which was published in book
form by British publisher Arthur House in November. We didn't think people
would like it because as a parent you like your children's work the best, but
it's very encouraging that people who are reading this book are liking it.
He said that children's stories were written by many writers
but it is very rare for children to write children's stories. The children came
to Pakistan to find out about relationships, what friendships are, because they
do not have many relatives within the UK.
Dr. Chand says that one of his stories is about grandparents. One story revolves around two brothers. Some of the stories are mysterious, some ask children who are intimidated by other children at college and are given recommendations on the way to answer this behavior. Shaza Zahid, the youngest author of 'Gifted Lies', who is only eight years old, said that she was influenced by more animals in Pakistan and raised a cat. That is why animals and their rights are discussed in his story.
Shiza says she is still young and has the mindset of a child
so she can think like a child and continue to write stories. Before becoming a
writer, Azan Zahid Khan is also a mathematician and runs his own channel on
YouTube where he teaches mathematics to children.
"The lesson in our stories isn't to be scared of anyone
and the way to face up for your rights," he said.
"Gifted Lies," he said, "means our book is a
gift of stories that is imaginative but also has lessons." And of course
other kids will enjoy reading them and they will definitely learn something
from it.
Azan also intends to continue writing stories. Hadi Zahid Khan says: “Of course we are feeling very good about the publication of our book. When I was in Pakistan, I was very impressed by the people there, especially my grandparents and even strangers and that's why I decided to write stories. But none of us thought that the stories we wrote would be printed in a book and that people would like them. Feeling we have 'Run out of gas' emotionally. And I would also like to continue this hobby with studies.
Chand Zahid Khan, the children's mother, says the children
were immersed in too many gadgets and games and there could be no better way to
bring them into the creative world. "As parents, we appreciated and
encouraged our youngsters ," he said. She plans to translate the book into
Urdu and publish it in Pakistan soon so that children here can enjoy reading
it.
